Consortium of Humanities Centers

The UC Consortium of Humanities Centers is comprised of UCHRI and the humanities centers from each of the ten campuses, represented by their center directors or a faculty member appointed by their dean.  Coordinated by a faculty chair selected by the group for a two-year term, the Consortium meets as a group at least once a year to hear reports on campus activities from its members and to make new awards for multicampus research groups (MRGs) and the research programs of the new three-year research initiative, Humanities and Changing Conceptions of Work. During the academic year, campus humanities centers provide administrative support and serve as liaisons to the Network-funded research projects based on their campuses. Center directors, in collaboration with their humanities deans, manage the selection of UC President’s graduate fellows and coordinate the Society of Fellows through their campus centers, providing mentoring and connectivity for dissertation research fellows as well as attending and participating in the annual Society of Fellows meeting.
